Trying to be a good person was all I ever knew how to do.

But there's a difference between someone who's trying to be a good person, and someone who's a good person.

A good person is the desirable one. A person trying to be good is the pathetic, disillusioned one with a misguided desire for the good person.

And so, in the end, I'm still the one who ends up being alone.

The sad part is, I probably always will...
